Here are some of my bits that I use to make cupcakes/fairy cakes:
Food Colouring
I usually do my cakes pale pink, blue or lilac, so I only use a couple of food colourings. I have red, blue and cochineal (pinkish red). I mix the red and blue to get the purple. The food colourings are about 50p each from Tesco etc and last forever! I also add vanilla flavouring to my cakes which also costs about 50p for a little bottle. There are also some little edible Hello Kitty decorations in the photo which I got from Ebay. You can chose pretty much any picture you like on them! They dont taste too great but they do look nice.
Decorations
I'm not good at doing icing or frosting decoration by hand so I just ice them normally and add some pretty sprinkles! There are so many different types to buy but here are some of my favs. Theres original sugar strands, hundreds and thousands, sugar stars, pink hearts and pink glimmer! They each cost between 50p - £1 and they last a while. Supermarkets often do their own brands which are different from the other stores.

These are my favs!
Cases & Moulds
I usually use regular paper cases for my fairy cakes but I have used the silicone moulds before. They are much larger though, but they are reuseable! I bought these lovely heart shaped ones from Spain and they were only 2euros! I havent had a chance to use them yet but look forward to seeing if they keep their shape.
Here are all my different patterened paper cases! I didnt realise how many I had until I took this photo... its quite a lot! I have about 50 of each design. The flowery ones are from a little kitchenware store in Ely (£1.29), the spotty ones are from Sainsburys (79p for 100), the pink 'cupcake patterned' muffin cases are also from Sainsburys (£2.99), the pastel coloured ones on the last column are from Asda (57p for 100), the blue, pink & bottom right floral ones are Dr Oetker fun cases from Tesco (99p for 75) and the bigger red spotty ones are from dotcomgiftshop (£1.50 for 72).
And this is my new cake tin mould! I havent used this yet either as I'm not sure how they would turn out exactly. I'm not sure its meant to be used for cake mix! But its cute none the less and I will try it out soon :) I got this from Spain aswell and it was also only 2euros!
Books
I have a couple of cupcake books which I mainly like only because I like the pictures! I dont usually make anything from them. But they're great for ideas and inspiration and the recipies are really original and yummy looking!
I have these two books; Cupcakes by Sue McMahon and Cupcakes by Susannah Blake.
I prefer the McMahon one but theyre both good. There are so many cupcake books out there recently. Alot of cupcake kitchens also publish their own books such as Cupcakes From the Primrose Bakery and The Hummingbird Bakery Cookbook; they are two popular cupcake companies that run cupcake bakerys in London.
